Like I promised, deep thoughts with Jon today.

Well, its done. THe funeral for Oliver's dad Raymond Chiang (1950-2002) has finally taken place. What an event to remember. Yes, it was a solemn and somber event but yet, it was really inspiring to see the legacy of this amazing man that impacted the lives of so many people. The father. The professor. The humanitarian. The friend. The worshipper. Even before his coming to his confession of Christ, Mr. Raymond Chiang was described as a man who overcame all obstacles to strive to be the best. But finally when he did, to his last days , he was remembered as a man who lived his best and ultimately in hte end lived for his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

The most moving part of it all was really when Oliver and Justin sang the song they wrote for their dad this last father's day. Some words that stood out were "its nothing special, nothing new, its special cuz it comes from you.".... that hits home. Thanks guys. for sharing that.

Another thing was something the pastor quoted. There is no time, what is memory. Cryptic words spoken by some govenor's wife at his funeral. Memory. Another thing that we often cherish but yet often carry with us through out this life. We often would like to relive our memories but we need to place them behind us and move on. No time. No memory. because memory requires heading back in time. these two things are co-related. without one, there cannot exist the other. Perhaps the meaning of that phrase is to live on in this time frame. with in this memory. That there can be no memory, rather it is a continuous cycle of the legacy that has been left behind.

It is late. my brain hurts.
Kristen, i'm sorry. 1 am is it for me. its 1:21.
